Raising healthy kids begins with us being healthy Raising healthy kids begins with us being healthy moms. Yet what holds many women back (or keeps many women stuck) are mother wounds from the past that were never acknowledged, dealt with, or healed.

While some wounds are obvious (like abuse or neglect) others are subtle. They can settle into your nervous system and reveal themselves over time through health issues like inflammation, depression, and more.

New on The Girl Mom Podcast, @kim_anderson_life Kim have a meaningful conversation about working through this hidden pain and understanding what the mother wound is. What’s the difference between making mistakes (which we all do!) and leaving wounds that cause real trauma? What does it mean to repair a relationship when trust is broken? How do you heal when the person who hurt you won’t own up to their part? How do you identify those moments that started the false narratives you tell yourself? We cover all this and more.

Adding Antiparos to the places where I could live🌸
Soaking up the beauty, energy, and culture of Paro Soaking up the beauty, energy, and culture of Paros 🌸 This is a big island, and it helps to have a car to see the different areas. A few highlights:

*Dinner at Siparos (highly recommend, it lives up to the hype and the food and service are great)

*A day trip to Lefkes, an adorable mountain town that used to be the capital, and lunch at a restaurant that a YiaYia hosts from her home. The menu is whatever she cooks that day, so you get what you get!

*Walking into every church we see 🕊️

*Shopping in Nauossa (especially love a jewelry store called Artisun, owned by a neat couple who moved home from London)

*Lunch at Katsounas (which locals kept recommending) after Mikri Santa Maria Beach

*Cooking class with Flora at Paros Cooking Class Farm to Table, who ironically went to school with our guide in Naxos (I’ll share her recipes with my newsletter readers so make sure you’re signed up)

*Cabana Paros Beachclub (get there before 12:30 pm to get chairs) and Golden Beach

*Loukoumades at Paradosiako in Naoussa

*Easy dinner at Pita Frank in Naoussa, good food and great service 🫓

*Dinner at Barbarossa (great atmosphere, not-so-great service except for Mike the Oyster Master, who was awesome)

*Day trip to Antiparos coming

Very thankful for this time with my family, yet we still miss Ella. I have a running list in my head of all the things I want her to see on future visits to Greece🩵
Milos, you were a dream. We definitely hope to ret Milos, you were a dream. We definitely hope to return🩵

If you’ve followed me for any time, then you know our family loves Greece. Harry’s grandparents all immigrated from Greece, and he still has relatives in Athens.

In 2017 we took a big family trip with YiaYia and the Kampakis cousins, and we did it again in 2022. Each time, we’ve dreamed of the islands we still we want to visit as there is something this country - the people, food, beauty, warmth, and hospitality - that stirs your desire for more.

Several Greeks have told us Milos is their favorite island. It’s more relaxed and less touristy, and they want to keep it that way. We loved it, and the only thing missing was not having Ella with us since she recently started grad school. She is where she’s meant to be, but we sure missed her. Already dreaming of our next adventure with her and the cousins too.

A lot of people have asked for Greece recommendations. My hope is to put a big article together, but in the meantime, here’s a Milos overview. Big thanks to @sophiedolan.rd for her tips, she nailed it.

*Boating trip to Kleftiko (you’ll see Klima fishing village, the most famous one in Milos, along the way. We used @polco_sailing and highly recommend them, especially Angelos and Zoe.

*Watching the sunset at Utopia Cafe (sunsets are late in Greece, like around 8:30 pm, and you have to get here early). We then ate dinner in the Plaka.

*Lunch or dinner at O! Hamos! Tavern. Unbelievable food and experience!! Sophie says that she still dreams about her meal, and I can tell you already we will do the same. Worth a trip to Milos just for this place!

*Papafragas, a beautiful beach

*Sarakiniko, another beautiful beach, AKA Moon Beach

*Mandrakia fishing village, we ate at Medusa overlooking the water

*Dinner at Akrotiri and Yialos in Pollonia, shopping at Vanilla

*We stayed at @nefeli_sunset_studios in Pollonia and loved it! On the water and so relaxing, you’d see people reading at all hours of the day. The north side of the island gets windy, so bring a cardigan or light jacket.

*Walking around Adamas (Adamantas), the main town and the port. Visit Artemis Bakery and Gyros Milos
Happy Father’s Day to our Greek king and all th Happy Father’s Day to our Greek king and all the wonderful fathers out there!! Especially thankful today for my dad, my husband, my brother, and my late father-in-law, all of whom have deeply impacted me and my children and shown us countless examples of our heavenly Father’s love, wisdom, strength, and provision. What a blessing to be loved, protected, and led by you!!
Parents and grandparents, our world needs you! It Parents and grandparents, our world needs you! It needs your stories, mistakes, victories, and hard-earned wisdom.

Pray for your child to outdo you - not because they are your second chance or a place to live vicariously, but because children are a gift from God who need our guidance, love, and protection.

God can use your child in ways that outlive your time on earth, and when you stay mindful of this, you’ll find extra motivation to impact tomorrow through your parenting, your prayers, and your reliance on Him today🤍

One of the best life skills your daughter (or son) One of the best life skills your daughter (or son) can learn is the art of the invitation.

In fact, I would say it’s essential as they grow up and enter new situations where they have to find friends and build community.

The best relationships always consist of two Givers. And learning to be the blessing - rather than always expecting to receive a blessing - makes a person stand out. It helps attract friends who do the same.

I shared this message last fall on Instagram, and it got a big response. I’ve turned it into an article on Substack, temporarily free. Comment ART and I’ll message you the link🤍
